Mmmmmm....porcini mushroom and sundried tomato risotto and a good bottle of wine make for a happy taerowyn's belly. Couple that with the lunchtime discovery of a kick-ass salad bar close to work complete with mixed berries and crystal rolls (with peanut sauce!) and suffice it to say that this was a good gastronomic day. (and yes...as the stupidity of that rhyme attests, I probably shouldn't attempt to finish that bottle of wine until tomorrow)

So, I am currently trying to convince myself that I'm not a big enough fangirl to attend a convention in another state. I mean, I've only been to one, and that's cause it was in the city where I live and it was a big, all-encompassing, all sci-fi/fantasy, World-Con with two of my favorite authors and myriad others so... well worth it. This would be several states over, and only the work of one person (no prizes if you guess who, but if you can't guess....quite frankly, where the hell have you been?!?!) and would cost lots more seeing as I'd have to pay for the gas of the drive and hotel accommodations. Plus there's the whole "I want to take a real vacation next year....preferably involving a beach so need to work on the whole saving money thing."

but aren't you on the east coast? isn't "several states over" the equivalent to the drive between FC and Pueblo? can't you sleep in your car? what's the big deal, eh fangirl?

when one of the states is NY and the other is PA...well "several states" can take a looooooooong ass time.
