taerowyn: (Huh)
While I know that racial profiling happens constantly and it's horrible, my first reaction to this is "Um....the store was closed. That's not racial profiling, it's getting treated like the rest of us, you know, non-celebrities."

I like what this guy says about it. There's a healthy dose of mockage, a reality check with "...she has accumulated some credibility over the years. If she has a racial complaint to air, I’m inclined to take it seriously rather than assume she’s crying wolf," and then mention that if it really was a racial issue, shouldn't she discuss it now instead of waiting til September when she can turn it into a ratings boost for her show?

The problem with getting up early is that, man you get exhausted early in the evening.

So far we've stuck with it...though I had to cut it short this morning due to a blister. I'm still getting up tomorrow though, but instead of walking, I'm going to excercise at home to a tape so that I can be barefoot and not irritate the now-popped blister.

I need new sneakers

Girl Roommate started this because a friend of hers convinced her to train for a half marathon. She's created a little calendar with the miles she (and Boy Roommate, who she convinced to join her) have to run, hung it in our front room and bought little star stickers so she can note activity. She calls it motivation and gratification. I guess it is, cause she added stars for me getting up and going walking (I'm sorry, I just don't run unless chased or playing softball or some other game) - I'm not motivated by the stickers, per se, but by the glaring holes their absence would be. Ah... peer pressure as a positive influence...
