Oct. 28th, 2002 10:46 amHad a very
schwa242-
mezdeathhead-eriffic weekend what with dinner Friday night and their Halloween/Housewarming party last night.
Friday they were nice enough to let me barge in on their "date night" so that I could be properly introduced to sushi. I'd only had it once before, a friend had leftovers, and it was wa-a-a-ay too fishy. I just flashed back to bins full of frozen herring and capelin from when I worked at the aquarium and was thus unable to swallow it. Blech.
Thankfully,
mezdeathhead has much better taste in sushi and she was willing to share her expertise. The Buddha rolls had a bit too much wasabi and the california rolls were just eh. I did like the spider rolls though and the crab rolls were very yummy in my tummy. My favorite part was dessert though. Green tea mocchi (sp?) balls! MMMMMMMM!
Saturday was lay around the house cause Dad gave me his chest cold day. As was Sunday, quite honestly. But Sunday night was the Halloween/Housewarming party so I had to go to that. I just recycled last year's Halloween costume 'cause nobody there had seen it and I'm not sure how re-usable this year's is. Mom was there too...had to get her first peek at the new house. She was all dolled up in feather-trimmed pink PJ's and a HUGE blonde beehive. She said she was a Mary Kay reject. Tee hee. She also said she felt a little bright and washed out compared to the other guests. Let's just say black was a definite theme.
Can I just say, seeing your brother in drag can be mildly disturbing? Especially when his hair looks like cotton candy. Don't ask.
