Well, I've officially been at this job for a year. Um, happy anniversary to me. Can I go now?

Actually, the boss and COO are out of town so the three of us left (ages 23-24) are thinking anniversary lunch on the company card...maybe a few margs. We'll see if it actually happens though.

Congrats on the 1yr mile mark. Doesn't seem like only a year ago we just got out of college...seems like forever ago. I passed my 1yr mark a little while ago and am now patiently (well not that patiently) awaiting my 1yr review (which will hopefully include a raise). Right now though things have been so upside down that I'm thinking reviews are kind of at the bottom of the list. Good luck with the potential lunch - get something very big and expensive. :o)

I don't know if it's really congrats. More...Damn, I've wasted a whole year here!?!? Oh well, I should, if my boss actually remembers, get a raise out of this. That, plus my July commissions, should make for a very nice paycheck come August 30th.

I know, I know, I whine a lot. Sorry.

I'm the customer service manager of a publishing company. The problem is it's the same thing day after day after day with no actual goal, yeah I did that, completion type thing. With the added bonus that my boss likes to pretend he's not a jackass and be a "people person" or some such, which makes him even more of a jackass when his jackass tendencies come out. Basically, it sucks all my mental capacity away and leaves me working with people I'm not very fond of.

But really, it is only temporary and I know many people have it much worse. I do try to limit the whining, I'm just not very successful.
