So yeah...one week later and I don't think things have sunk in for me yet. I still get a little teared up reading certain articles. Just....wow. WOW!

I'm slowly weaning myself of Huffinton Post at least, though my work listservs/feeds are still all abuzz with the tech/organizing behind this historic campaign.

If you haven't checked out the transition website, change.gov you should. Though one troubling catch people have made is the recent disappearance of the in-depth info in the agenda section. The disappearance itself isn't so bad, though the lack of explanation does twig a few concerns.

The things I really like though are the participatory sections: Share your story and Share your vision as well as the focus on service ("Ask not what your country can do for you..." anyone?).

I do find it a little odd that his Senate web site hasn't been updated since October. You'd think there would be a news story posted about him vacating the office.

I don't find that too surprising. I doubt he's done anything as Senator Obama in that time...too focused on Candidate and now President-Elect Obama.

I know this is sort of geeky of me, but it's like living in a dream. I keep having to pinch myself. A president I can listen to on the television or radio without my teeth setting on edge. And not over policy, but over GRAMMAR. I was watching the Daily Show, and could almost see them thinking, "Geez, our job is going to be harder now."

Just the mood of the whole country. One thing everyone seems to agree on is that Barack Obama is SMART. And I think a lot of people in a variety of political stripes, are sort of thirsty for that now. I just feel relieved. I felt like there were too many awful things that happened that Bush did not take seriously enough or address, and I believe that a lot of that has to do with his overall lack of intellectual curiosity.

Every time I think about it, I just feel better.

Exactly. An intelligent president (and one that doesn't feel the need to hide his intelligence behind a "boy howdy" veneer like Clinton did). It's just...again I say wow.
