Our lawn is being mowed.
I know, I know. Shouldn't be all that impressed, but see...lawn falls under landlady's duties. Last summer...worked out pretty good. Her brother, the so-called "handyman," came by about once a month and took care of it. No big deal. (Though actually, my roommate and her boyfriend did take several trips to the neighbors to borrow their mower--seeing as landlady doesn't leave us a functional one--to do some in-between maintenance).
This summer? Not so much.
In fact, we can stretch the neglect back to this winter when one of the ginormous snow dumps knocked over the back fence. Landlady said it'd be fixed in 2-3 weeks (though after I mentioned it, "handyman" did at least come by to make sure the lean of the fall was toward our yard instead of into the neighbors). Now...oh, let's say 8 months later, it's still a-leaning. The yard has been mowed once at the start of summer (downstairs neighbor requested it for her graduation BBQ) and since then? No mowing.
Lots and lots of rain and no mowing.
As of yesterday there were parts of the yard that were, without hyperbole, taller than me.
Methinks "handyman" is in for a shitty afternoon. And honestly? I have no sympathy for him. I'm mean like that.
