Pick your favorite film from each year you've been around. Please note that the operative word here is favorite--not necessarily best. Wikipedia makes it easier. Fair warning...I like my fluff. This is definitely a list of faves, not best
- Superman: The Movie
- Monty Python's Life of Brian
- Hopscotch (and yes, I realize this means I lose all sci-fi street cred since I din't choose Empire)
- Raiders of the Lost Ark
- The Secret of NIMH This was the first really, really tough pic...I mean Annie and Victo/Victoria and E.T. and...I finally had to decide based on which one would I be able to (note, not WAS able to) watch over and over again in a single day.
- War Games
- The NeverEnding Story I seem to be trending towards the kids movies when it comes to the tough decisions...maybe cause I've loved them longer?
- Real Genius
- Labyrinth It was very hard to pass up "Duckie" Dale, but again, kid flick won out...and it was a tight squeeze between two of them, but in the end went with fantasy vs sci-fi (Flight of the Navigator)
- The Princess Bride
- Die Hard Barely beats out Big...and mostly cause of repeat watching (and quoting) Die Hard with my dad
- Say Anything...
- Edward Scissorhands
- Soapdish I'm glad
starrai mentioned it as it wasn't listed on wikipedia, but trumps the two I was deciding between
- Sneakers But Buffy was close...
- Benny & Joon
- The Shawshank Redemption
- French Kiss
- The Truth About Cats & Dogs
- Grosse Pointe Blank
- Ever After
- Galaxy Quest Squeezing out The Matrix by not having any less than stellar sequels and Dogma cause...well, if the choice of mockery is religion or Star Trek, I'm going to choose the one that's had more presence in my life ;-)
- Erin Brockovich Yay environmental activism with snark!
- The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Amelie was up there...but I still remember seeing this in the theater the first time (and yes, I went multiple times) and just being so very, very blown away
- Minority Report The last time I liked Tom Cruise
- Love Actually Pirates was yet another movie squeezed out for having disappointing sequels
- The Incredibles I though for sure I'd pick Eternal Sunshine when I got to that year, and yet...
- Serenity Was there ever any doubt?
- V for Vendetta
- Death at a Funeral Just barely edging out Juno...and doing so basically on Alan Tudyk's performance
- Iron Man So far....
