May. 26th, 2008 10:38 pmLong time no posty-mcpost. Roommate has now moved out and been replaced by Subletter...her friend.
Her male friend. Funny story telling my folks that. The conversation basically went:
ME: Guy moving in
THEM: Oh noes! Will you be safe?
ME: Friends say he's nice guy, I believe them. Just out of law school, here to take the Bar
THEM: Hey, maybe you can date him
Seriously the reversal from paranoia to matchmaking was that fast. He's got a girlfriend so I was able to burst that particular bubble. Whew.
Anyway, Subletter seems nice. Should be a pain free three months...now it's just a matter of lining up the Replacement Roommate. Hooray for the russian roulette of Craigslist! Or something...
This weekend was fantabulous. Roommate is housesitting again, so she, a friend, and I spent the weekend lazing about out in central MA. Saw lots of wildlife (snakes, frogs, wild turkey, the dead chipmunk the cat brought in as a prezzie...) and did endless amounts of nothing. We laughed at how much those weekends become about food, but it's just nice to not have much else to do other than laze about, go on walks, etc. so hanging out in the kitchen, really investing the time to prepare food becomes an event in and of itself.
Just...so nice to get away for a bit.

Date: 2008-06-08 09:06 pm (UTC)her: how was it?
Me: eh
Her: you need to get out there more and try out more things
ok..
a few minutes later:
Her: You know - that was a really bad idea, meeting up with someone who you didn't even really know (yes Mom - that's why I met at a movie theater - and left seperately).
Moms are funny! :)
