I was feeling better. By yesterday afternoon I had both my energy and my appetite back. So I ate a normal dinner. It's now 3 a.m. and I fully realize the error of my mistake.

I'm trying to decide whether or not I go into work. I can't really afford a whole week off, but then I probably won't be getting much work done what with all the vomit breaks (I know, I know...TMI). Depending on how I feel in about 4 hours, I think I'm going to be working from home.

Since I got the food poisoning on a business trip, should I really be charged for the sick leave?

Serious Answer: Considering a good number of illnesses stem from the workplace, yes
Not-so-serious answer: Depends... who paid for the food?

Feel better and try not to think about lukewarm pork.

Twas part and parcel of the place's package (sorry, couldn't resist). Basically it was some sort of "lodge" with "family-style meals" meaning they brought you massive amoutns of food and you picked and chose what you wanted to eat but there was a set price for each meal, paid for with the housing costs etc i.e. by the office.

No, and technically you can sue the caterer if you go get tested for the type of food poisoning and have them pay for your leave. Of course, your company should be doing that.
