Shock

Even when you know something is coming, sometimes when it finally arrives...there's still a feeling of total shock. The two girls from upstairs were supposed to be here through to the 15th. One was told today that this is her last day. The other is on vacation at the moment and will be coming back...to clean out her desk I guess. Then, our accountant who comes in 5 times a month is out of here as of today as well. So in the last three weeks we lost 4 employees. When you only have 11...that's a little frightening. That's DOWNSIZING! Yikes. Methinks I should be perusing the want ads a wee bit more seriously.

The 11 is actually from two companies my boss owns that work in the same building. I am one of 2 employees left in the company I work for and the only full-time employee. Wheee....are we having fun yet.

One of the girls leaving said I should ask for a raise because of all the additional work I'm going to be stuck with.

"But the whole problem is that there's no money"

"Well at least a few dollars an hour."

"Yeah, one dollar an hour for each person whose job duties I am taking over."

"There you go."
