taerowyn: (Happy ME)

Since I don't start my new job until Wednesday, it's still the weekend for me. Wheeeeeeeee!

It's actually been an action packed time thus far. Despite Saturday's bad beginnings, I had a great time what with seeing the movie and then going to see my (EX!) co-worker's show at a local club.

Sunday I went to the Bazaar Bizarre. Was hoping to get a Christmas present and got something for myself instead. Bad [livejournal.com profile] taerowyn! Then went to the bead store with friend to spend my birthday gift certificate. Of course bought twice as much as the gift certificate would cover...but beads! And pretty! Bought some square-cut African Opal (look like this only faceted). I'd never heard of African Opal before, but it's beautiful and is going to work great with the new beading technique I learned recently. Then my friend and I came back to my place and I taught her the new technique.

Today, I bummed around the house and helped Boy Roommate load up the last of his stuff. His Door-to-Door crate was supposed to be picked up between 12 and 3 and then he was going to hit the road. When I left at 4:45, he was still waiting. It was so hard to say goodbye. I'm a little depressed now, but I know the full reality of the situation hasn't even begun to sink in yet. I'm really going to miss him.

Tonight was the Holiday Party for the OLD(!!!) job. It was much better than I'd feared. Got there a little late so ended up at the partially filled table, which quickly was dubbed the kids' table as we were having so much more fun than anybody else. Probably because at least 30% of us at that table were ex-employees, so what did we care?

Tomorrow is the MIT Glass Holiday Sale, laundry and groceries. Then the normal crew coming over to watch House. Wednesday is movie night with the (EX!)co-workers. Thursday is the holiday party at the new job. Friday...possibly karaoke night with the (EX!)co-worker who had the show on Saturday. What can I say? I'm a busy gal.

Actually, I have a bit of a friend-crush on this girl, in that I really, really want us to become good friends. I'm in desperate need of a close girl friend in Boston. I have some friends who are girls, but nobody who is quite best friend material. I'm still on the lookout for a 5' 10" or taller woman named Kim (which will only make since to some of you)...but in the meantime this girl is probably one of the best fits for me personality-wise that I've found in MA that isn't either a) moving/moved to Canada or b) having a baby and thus soon to drop off the social radar for awhile.
