You know, I was having a really good weekend. I've been productive, spent time with friends, saw some good movies. I don't think it's too much to ask to finish out the weekend with a little Christmas shopping and relaxation. I mean...that's not expecting much, is it?

Well, apparently the asshat who threw a rock through my driver's side window in the wee small hours disagreed as that was the lovely surprise that I found on my way to my, now cancelled, shopping trip. So, instead of fun Christmas shopping I'm stuck cleaning the glass out of my car; talking to the insurance company, glass company, and police; and, putting plastic on my window. Fun!!! You know, the kind that's not.

This happened to me when I had a citycar. Twice.

I ended up not getting insurance involved (not like it would have done me any good with my barebones coverage, plus the police never sent anyone out to fill out a report), and just paying for the glass cleanup and window replacement out of pocket. It was like $150 each time I think; painful to pay, but ultimately probably less painful than dealing with the insurance company.

I actually have fairly high hopes. Boy Roommate's window broke last year and the insurance adjuster and glass repair people came to him within two days and it was all fixed easy-peasy. Here's hoping it goes as well for me...
