I am totally hyperactive and I don't know why (no I haven't had any caffeine and the hyperness hit before the ingestion of the vodka...hence the confusion)
Been enjoying my long weekend thus far. Yesterday I just putzed around the house and then went over to a friend's for very yummy Thanksgiving goodness. Back at my place I did a little cleaning, talked to the family on the phone and read, read, read.
Today, I got up and checked out Christmas trees. I want to get one this year. I'd like to go small, but we have huge rooms with really high ceilings. I'm thinking small, but standing up on something...a trunk maybe?
Anyway, can't decide if it's better to buy one and have it all decorated as a surprise for the roommies, or wait til we can all go together and make it a group activity. I'm thinking option a. And I'll probably do it tomorrow.
Did some cleaning and winterizing (there's something oddly therapeutic about shrinkwrapping...even when it's windows)
Picked up Boy Roommate from the airport. He was in FL (jealous!) but it's good that he came back cause he reminded me that I was supposed to check in on our friends' cat. I'd have forgotten if he hadn't said something. So, took my allergy meds and went over to feed the kitty and watch a movie so she could have some human company for awhile. She was very happy to see a person. Couldn't get enough attention. Too cute.
Next on the agenda was Rent. I must say, they did a damn fine job. There were spots where lyrics had been removed or what had been song was now spoken that kinda threw me, but they were understandable changes and all in all they really did a phenomenal job.
And now I'm back in the apartment and hyper. Finished shrinkwrapping my windows so now my room is toasty warm. Think I'll tackle the living room tomorrow. Make a day of it: do the windows, clean and put up the tree.
Sunday is going to be shopping. Have to get my
project29 together for this month and possibly some Christmas shopping (
schwa242 and
mezdeathhead, I have some ideas for you so if you don't speak up soon, you're going to be stuck with the ideas that my warped brain has produced...). Definitely hitting Harvard Square with the option of going downtown. We'll see. Apparently it's supposed to be moderately warmer on Sunday so I figure inside stuff tomorrow, outside fun on Sunday. And then Monday....I quit! (all official like and everything).

Date: 2005-11-26 09:20 am (UTC)But my first tree was about a foot tall, pre-lit, with uber tiny ornaments. It worked great in the shady studio apartments I lived in right after high school. I love it so much, I still have it.
We so need to shrink wrap, drafty, drafty, drafty, Iowa houses.
