I think that's what I found the most interesting as well. I'm used to writers doing that kind of research, but I never thought of cartoonists doing it. But then, he has to distill ideas into fewer words than most writers so it shouldn't be a suprise that he really has to know what he's talking about.
Have I mentioned lately how much I love Garry Trudeau? Because I do. His work has been influential on me in so many aspects of my life and development.
I feel compelled to write him though, and say, "Man, little kids DO read your stuff! And think it's hilarious!" Because I sure did. Then again, I was weird anyway.
