Oh [livejournal.com profile] liz_marcs...

So the website for Kitchen Confidential is up. It's been a long time since I've been looking forward to a new TV series and it's all [livejournal.com profile] liz_marcs' fault. All her talk about the book got me to read it and it was phenomenal and now I too am impatient for the show to begin. You should all go read the book and then you too can look forward to the new TV season for the first time in...well... a long time.

And I know...it's FOX...but it's not FOX's news division. And yes, I accept the fact that I'm a total hypocrite. Shut up!

Heh. 'Tis a great book. And I hate Anthony Boudain for being such a damn good writer with exactly zero practice. He literally fell into the gig.

*hates on talented schmuck with love*

And yeah, I feel so conflicted when it comes to FOX. I want to not give them ratings, but damn they've got Arrested Development, which is like the best comedy on television. Now they've got Arrested Development and Kitchen Confidential back-to-back and it's like nirvanna time.

A pairing like that has the real potential to be a Monday night comedy powerhouse.

*waaaaaah*

I've already hit the Web site and am cheerfully going through all the interviews. I admit that NB's interview drove me insane. It's like if he's not in character he can't even look at the camera. Although his steadfast in ability to mention Buffy (he called it "another show on another network") and his comment that Darren Star has no ego and how it's a nice change to work in an environment like that takes on a whole new meaning in light of that recent interview he did in conjunction with Bradley Cooper.

I get the feeling more and more that NB really wants to distance himself from BtVS as much as possible.

That bugged the hell out of me too, but I don't think it's totally his fault. Part of it is staging. For most TV interviews, the interviewer is right next to the lens so, while the intervieww isn't looking right at the lens (fourth wall and all that) he is looking pretty close. In these, the interviewer seems to be way over to the side...Owain Yeoman's is staged like NB's and he has the same eye issue. But NB does have a lot of additional fidgeting and aw shucksness going on as well.

The backhanded...um, let's call it insight...into the Whedonworld was and continues to be interesting. *Sigh* all those poor fans who think everything was perfect because it was Joss...whatever will they do?

They all seem to have eyeline issues, but the additional fidgeting is what drove me nuts.

Still, I fluve the whole cast they've got and I'm drooling fangurling waiting impatiently for this show to start.

September 19th people!

And it's a really, really nice site with a lot of promised extras. So it looks like FOX is banking on this show to take off. If only it was more than 12? 13? episodes. Here's hoping it gets picked up for a full season.
