Had a movie weekend, which has motivated me to do another movie quiz

There are 12 movie quotes from 12 different movies. See if you can guess them. First come, first served. The ones in bold are still un-guessed, but checking the comments to make sure someone hasn't beat you to it isn't a bad idea either...again, credit goes to [livejournal.com profile] spankerella from way-back-when. I'm adding a little twist...see if you can figure it out.

1. I loathe the bus. There has to be a more dignified mode of transportation.

2. We're no longer called Sonic Death Monkey. We're on the verge of becoming Kathleen Turner Overdrive, but just for tonight, we are Barry Jive and his Uptown Five.

"High Fidelity" as says [livejournal.com profile] ronebofh

3. Geology is the study of pressure and time. That's all it takes really, pressure, and time. That and a big god-damned poster.

[livejournal.com profile] underwhelm correctly guessed "Shawshank Redemption"

4. Hey, little anal-dwelling butt monkey. Time for you to go home, little buddy.

[livejournal.com profile] blessedprincess correctly identified "Bruce Almighty." I think I totally lost it at this scene in particular. So silly!

5. I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.

This is one of my favorite quotes from "Office Space" and [livejournal.com profile] underwhelm identified it correctly.

6. They had this look in their eyes, totally animal. I think they were young Republicans.

7. All you need is for one person to think you're cool, and you're in. Everyone else will be scared to question it.

This theory of high school was relayed in "Never Been Kissed." So guessed [livejournal.com profile] blessedprincess.

8. Oh, bite your tongue! The only throne I want her sitting on is the one I have to clean everyday.

Correctly identified by [livejournal.com profile] evilgreenmonkey as "Ever After"

9. This is grain, which any fool can eat, but for which the Lord intended a more divine means of consumption. Let us give praise to our maker and glory to his bounty by learning about... BEER.

[livejournal.com profile] starrai should totally not be ashamed about guessing this accurately as "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves", though that could just be me projecting my lack of shame. I fully acknowledge being a Christian Slater-crushing teeny-bopper who watched this movie several times a day when I got it for Christmas.

10. What is this thing? I mean, it serves no useful purpose for there to be a bunch of chompy, crushy things in the middle of a hallway. No, I mean we shouldn't have to do this, it makes no logical sense, why is it here?

I was worried that no one would get this, but [livejournal.com profile] wynlara finally did. It's "Galaxy Quest."

11. This is mine, Alan. All mine. I made him, I built him. And no Boy Scout is going to come in here and take it away from me, just because he happens to be Vice President of the United States.

I had a hard time picking a single quote from "Dave"...great back and forth dialogue, but not so much with single quotes. Still, [livejournal.com profile] ronebofh guessed it correctly.

12. This is my Peter - uh, my *friend* Peter. We just met at the, uh, intersexual... homosection... INTERSECTION!

[livejournal.com profile] schwa242 correctly identified "In & Out" a highly entertaining flick that everybody should see.

I know so many of these, but of course I'm blanking on them. Except for #9 -- Friar Tuck in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.

I'm not sure if I should be ashamed of knowing that or not.

Yep...no shame, I could probably watch the movie on mute and recite large chunks of the dialogue. The things we warp our brains with when young...

It's not the Christian Slater, it's the Kevin Costner. Then again, it introduced me to the comic genius that is Alan Rickman, so there we have it! No shame!

Still I say no shame...anything pre-Waterworld is acceptable. And, as you said, Alan Rickman goodness!
