I meant to go to bed early tonight...yeah, looks like that isn't happening. Did a bit of cleaning, but mostly just futzed online. How out of character for me.

Now I'm sitting here, sucking on a butter rum Lifesaver that I got in my last project29 package.

schwa242 is probably going to tell me that my memory is faulty, but butter rum Lifesavers and fruit flavor Certs will forever make me think of my dad. He always seemed to have one or the other in his pockets when we were growing up. Now it's Altoids.

Not faulty at all. Other candies that make me think of him include bubblegum or banana Jelly Bellies, Dubble Bubble gum. But for the most part, it's the Butter Rum Lifesavers. I can't buy those now. I go through a roll in two hours tops.

Dubble Bubble gum....God, do you remember road trips? When he'd go through one of those huge tubs in a trip?

As for the Butter Rum...amazingly they survived in my room for a week. Unopened. I opened them last night and have two left.

Oh yeah. I still think the worst road trip food violation our family as a whole made on a road trip was the amount of fucking McDonald's we ate on the way to and from Maryland when Pap Pap died. It was the first time they had their "Monopoly" contest, and I think we used the awful food and phony promise of prizes to distract ourselves.
