When you fall in love with a sci-fi TV series that gets canceled mid-season and then comes back as a movie and this makes you very happy and you can't wait for the release and in the meantime you get as many people as you can hooked on said show so they'll also be excited for the movie and go see it helping it be a big hit and causing the studio to make more movies....
How to tell when you've crossed the line to total geek:
When you find yourself reading a book of collected essays about said show (analyzing its demise, discussing the fictional world, making fun of FOX executives...whatever) and are both a) enjoying it immensely and b) finding that several of your favorite fiction authors who you in no way knew were affiliated with said show (and in most cases aren't other than this book) have written several of the pieces...
I think I need to go to a Sci-Fi convention soon so I can see the people who show up in costume and reaffirm that, though I may be a bigger geek than most of you, at least I'm less of a geek than most of them...
