Movies

So I'm working on a wedding present for some friends of mine. As such, I've been watching a lot of movies while I try to get the thing finished. Here's what I've discovered so far:

The Pianist is a damn amazing movie and Brody totally deserved the Oscar...maybe even the kiss.

Four Feathers was better than I had expected.

Daredevil was worse than I had expected.

Nicholas Nickleby was exactly what I had expected.

Real Women Have Curves was good, but not as good as its acclaim had led me to believe.

I will probably have to own Death to Smoochy soon.

I know, I know...move to a great new city and spend a bunch of time in my room watching movies. I'm on a deadline to get this project done, the wedding is in a little less than a month, people. Tick tock, tick tock. I'll go back to lots of exploring once the damned thing is done.

It's not like I'm neglecting exploration all together. Just today I found a very evil paper store that I should never enter again. Well, at least not until I'm no longer on a grad student budget.

Ranting away

Just got notification from my insurance that they're paying for exactly none of the latest rounds of tests. That means that not only were the tests inconclusive, but I have to pay for them myself. ARGH! And we still don't know what the fuck is wrong. Stupid body. Stupid insurance. It's not like I can afford this anymore. I'm a grad student with no job.

Speaking of no job...I'm here, in Boston, about a month before all the other students get here. Perfect time to go job-hunting, right?. But see, I applied for several assistantships at the school so I want to see if I get one of those first. Better pay, right at school, all around good deal. Oh, except for the fact that I won't hear if I got one til the end of the month...you know, when all the other students get here and start looking for jobs. ARGH again!
