Jan. 19th, 2005 08:52 pmYou want to know what's not comforting? This. This is not comforting. Now the majority of my brain is saying... "Terror, blah, blah, blah, color-coded security, blah, blah, blah, fear mongerers, blah, blah, blah" with a sidedish of "The Chinese? Really?!" But there sre still those niggling doubts that I have now that I live in a big city that would be a viable target. These are the times I miss the lack of happenings that is CO (at least my corner of CO).
My concern isn't too big though. Seeing this was enough to distract me with a laugh or two.

And your little corner of CO has it's own shock tactics in the media. The Fort Collins Weekly had an article how Fort Collins is one of a handful of towns in the US that rests nicely downhill from a very large fucking damn that could easily be destroyed with a truck bomb, and then kindly detailed how one could go about doing that. Ha ha!

Date: 2005-01-19 10:05 pm (UTC)As for China. I agree with the whole "sleeping giant" thing. With that large a population, you don't really get much more giant. And there is indeed a lot going on. I'm just going to stick with rose-colored glasses naivety and hope they come into their own in a non-blowing-other-people-up kinda way.
