taerowynI'm so very in reverse-Christmas mode. The later I stay up the longer it will be til school starts. Been in that mode since before Seattle. It does not bode well for later on in the semester.
Guess what? I have a second draft due Monday on a story that I've only interviewed one person for. WHEEEEEEEE!!! Can we say procrastination? Good, I knew you could. I mean really, who wants to read/write about air pollution from cargo ships. OK, OK, maybe some people, but I'm seriously chafing under this whole "beat" system. We each have a specific area of science to cover for our newswriting course. We need to know what's happening in the field and all our stories for the semester have to be related. For some unknown reason, in my attempt to take a step back from marine biology but still deal with environmental issues I chose air pollution as my beat. ZZZZZZZZZZ. Me so smart. I just can't get interested.
At least the magazine course has some interesting stuff. I'm writing a piece on Intelligent Design, springboarding from the session I saw at AAAS. My next piece in that class will, hopefully, be the one on databases and privacy that I want to do. We'll see.
