Nov. 14th, 2003 11:58 pmWell, it's official. My broadcast class has turned me into a documentary snob. Went to see one tonight for the opening ceremony of a conference this weekend (and yes I realize how pathetic it was that that was my Firday night).
The film was on the underwater aquifers in Florida. They actually scuba'd from one upwelling to another, ten miles underground through cave systems. It was an amazing opportunity. They had great footage, a great message to impart and they completely fumbled it.
I have never watched a more painfully scripted thing in my life. It was just executed so badly it's ridiculous. It wouldn't have been so bad if they didn't have such amazing raw material to work with.
Like I said...officially a snob.
