What happened? Once upon a time everybody knew when anybody was in space. I didn't even know there was a landing today. Why is it only after a catastrophe that the amazing comes back to people's attention?

It's times like these that I regret my lack of faith. Still... God rest their souls.

my father kept us up for the very first moon landing. i still remember it.
we were also down at cape canaveral for the first shuttle launch.
i know what you mean about how it used to be 'news'. now it's only mentioned if something goes wrong...
