Dec. 20th, 2002 07:49 amWell, I succumbed. But what could I do? I was out looking for a gift for the gift exchange and there it was. I had to buy it.
Yes, it's cheesy and silly and odd and countless other things, but then, so am I so THHHHHHPPPPHHHTTT!! Besides, who can pass up lyrics like "We'll have to try/WE'll pay the price/It's do or die/Hey, I've died twice"? C'mon....it's funny!!! At least it makes for great driving music. I'm all about the showtunes and Disney when it comes to long drives. If I'm singing I can't fall asleep. Just pray you're never a passenger. Ask my mom, she could tell horror stories about a drive to Quebec.
As for the gift exchange, I thought about "forcing my musical taste on others" as
ronebofh suggested, but instead went with my reading tastes. I got Round Ireland with a Fridge and Playing the Moldovans at Tennis. Two of the funniest books ever. I did think about toys like
cheryln suggested, but could find nothing that I thought would fit the tastes of the people I knew would be there. And
sagespot had the great idea of a beta, but these aren't people I would want to make resposible for a living thing so books it was. I figured out I got books for over 50% of the people on my list. Just doing my part to make the world a more literate place, I guess.
