Dec. 15th, 2002 10:44 pmSaw the new James Bond today. It was fairly entertaining. At least when you see Bond films you know what you're going to get. Really liked the "in" joke with Q (thank you
mezdeathhead and
schwa242 for containing youselves and not giving it away).
My only big complaint* was with one particular scene. Yes, Bond movies are far-fetched, but there's a line. It's a line within special effects and it's a line within suspension of disbelief, and once you cross that line, well then the scene just becomes laughable. Anybody who has seen the movie knows the scene I'm talking about. There's just...there's a line, people!
*Do have small complaints in the "Bond Girl" area, but then, when don't I? For once I just want someone to turn him down and, you know, NOT change her mind at some point in the movie. Even the "bad guy" women usually end up at least making out with the man. And no, Moneypenny doesn't count because she still wants to say yes. I just want one woman, just ONE woman, to not fall for his charm. I know, I know, it would be messing with the formula, yada yada yada. I guess he just wouldn't be Bond if the women were capable of resisting.

Date: 2002-12-16 11:16 am (UTC)yeah, i wouldn't mind seeing him throw down some of his smoothest one liners to some fine lady, and get a slap in the face in return. but honestly, i think that he would end up having to make up for it by sleeping with at least 46 other women after that, or it just wouldn't be bond.
