Sep. 19th, 2002 08:24 amOn the way to work today, the electronic "helpful information" signs had changed. For the longest time they've been saying "No open burning. Fire bans in effect." Now I understand needing this information on the way into a campsite or a national park, but driving down the highway? It's not like I was planning to roast some marshmallows on top of my car on the way to work or anything.
The sign today read "State Patrol High Visibility Activity." What are they trying to say here? "Don't break the speed limit, we really, really mean it." Are there really a bunch of state patrollers around and they decided to be nice and warn you or are there few around and they're trying the old mom trick of "I have eyes in the back of my head"?
