So...out drinking with some coworkers tonight...about two thirds of the way through my Guinness when I go to take a drink and there's something tickling my lip. Look in the glass and the thing tickling my lip?

The wing beat of a fly stuck in the foam of the Guinness!

YECH!

Thankfully, I clearly remember looking into the beer a few times so it was at least a recent landing (i.e. hadn't been there through my drinking the whole two thirds of a drink), but still...ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

Thank God alcohol is a fine sanitizer.

My brother accidentally swallowed a fly in church once when he was a kid. It's a long story, and explanation really doesn't help. But he survived it despite being uber grossed out.

It was totally just the gross out factor. They offered to pour me another...I said no. I was pretty much done with beer for the evening at that point.

Alcohol kills any diseases that the fly is carrying. :o)
