Jan. 19th, 2008 08:48 pmAh the power of karma. My plans for this weekend including holing up in my apartment with knitting and Netflix, maybe catching a movie or two at the theater with some friends. Then a former coworker emailed a bunch of people in desperate need of a house/dog sitter as the one they'd arranged had canceled. I figured that holing up in their apartment was little different than doing so in mine so offered my services.
And in return...
Well, let's just say, I'd forgotten that she works for a documentary filmmaker. A filmmaker that's a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences. A filmmaker that votes for the Oscars, meaning he gets the DVDs of all Oscar potential films...DVDs he lends to his staff.
Screw going to to see Sweeney Todd in the theater (among many other DVDs she has on hand), I'm watching it in a comfy living room with a glass of wine and a cute little dachshund curled at my side.
