taerowyn" icon, but really I'm only pleasantly buzzed. Emphasis on the pleasant.
Since both Roomies went home this weekend, I had the apartment to myself and, due to the weather, I stayed in the damn apartment. (I don't see wildlife all that often, what with living in the city, but at this rate... I'm mentally preparing myself for seeing it two by two. This is frickin' ridiculous).
Watched some movies. Started and finished a book in the course of a day. Did some housecleaning and the like. Just a restful weekend.
Of course by today I was all ready for some social time, so I was quite happy that the Old Job crowd had planned a happy hour for this evening. I was also quite morose when a barrage of emails this morning signalled its cancellation. Thankfully, I said so (only less pathetic sounding) in an email, so one of the grils, who felt the same, wrote and we went out for a drink. Beer! Socializing! Happy times.
Also of the happy was the discovery that I don't suck at my job. Huzzah! See, last week, I was preparing some stats for an upcoming annual meeting. Basically looking at all the messages we send out, both national (my boss' territory) and regional (me). The stats for national were maintaining, but the stats for regional showed a big dip in certain areas for 2006...you know, since I started.
So, last week I was in a bit of a bother and funk about all this. Today, I realized that we recently started a new kind of messaging that has different rates (5% as opposed to 20%), that we'd sent out several of these messages only in 2006 and only regional. They were totally skewing my stats!
Take those out and voila...taerowyn doesn't suck at her job. Again I say Huzzah!
