taerowynWork has been slow of late, though I'm not going to complain since February is going to turn into a bitch of a month. In the meantime, I've been doing some database work. I've found that for each record I update, there's a loading time in which I can read about one paragraph or so of text. So I've been reading Slate and Romenesko etc. I'm not going to read LJ at work, cause that's just asking for trouble. Today I rediscovered my love for Television Without Pity. I seem to always forget about it and then remember it again randomly, read it religiously for some period of time, stop for some reason, forget about it...you get the idea.
Anyway, I am so very, very happy that I remembered. Not only do they recap House which I love, BUT...they also recapped Firefly! I'm such a happy camper. I mean, come on, how can I resist: Then we cut to Captain Johnny getting tossed through the window of the bar into the dirt outside. Now, when I say tossed "through" the window, what I mean is that he goes through the window without anything breaking. That's because the window is a hologram. That's right -- somebody went to the effort of developing a holographic device to mimic something that's completely transparent. Don't think about it too much or your head might explode. If this is an indication of how these people prioritize their expenses, I think we might have hit upon the real reason they're all so poor.

And if you're confused about me enjoying the mockery of something I love, then you don't know me (or my family). We mock BECAUSE we love. If I'm always nice to you and never pick on you about anything? Yeah, we're not all that close...I may not even like you all that much. It's twisted, I know, but then so am I.
Off to do more reading (since stupid American Idol has bumped House for the next few weeks...Stupid, stupid. You know, I only watch one TV show regularly. It'd be nice if it could be on...you know...regularly).

I think I found a new email signature: Take my drive. Take my mouse. Kick me out of my own house. But you can't take the snark from me. No, you can't take the snark from me.
