If I had any sense of self preservation whatsoever, I would just go to bed now and wait for this day to end. Let's see, slipped and fell on the way to my interview, cracking my knees against the step to the bus quite nicely. Got to the interview and it went well, so that's nice. On the way back, got caught up in the crowd of Red Sox fans going to the game which meant a loud, hot, crowded commute home. Called UPS for the third day in a row to track down a package that should have gotten here a week ago and has been sitting five miles from my house for the past week. Dealt with yet another unhelpful UPS employee so I may never see this package. Took my car in for service and left my cell phone there. So yes, I should go to bed, but what I'm going to do is drive back to Saturn and get my frickin' phone so I can call UPS AGAIN and ask what the hell is going on with my package.

I am not a happy camper.

I'm sympathetic. It takes all the joy out of a courier delivery when you have to drive to the giant rabbit warren and queue up for service to get the package they were suppose to bring to YOU. :) I've done it, I know. On my bike, mind you.

I don't think I'm allowed to go to this facility. According to Ryan, the pick-up UPS place for us is in South Boston whereas my package is in a "sort facility" in Watertown. We'll see. What's super annoying is that, while the national UPS people have been very nice and sympathetic, the Watertown people have been rude and blundering. So far I've heard three different, conflicting, and in some cases, false (according to the tracking information they've provided) stories from them on why I don't have my package yet. Incompetence irks me.

Yeah, it's a really shitty day for me, too, when I have to ask "what the hell is going on with my package."

You'd think that as a writer I'd be more wary of bad turns of phrases, but no...still managing to sound like an idiot.

I could always make it worse by telling you that the delay was caused by a rattling sound that caused them to think my package might be damaged...
