Saw it again. Much better after a second viewing. I've sorted out my quibbles and qualms and this time I could actually sit back and watch it as a movie and not as "EEEEEEEEEEEE! It's Firefly!" I had some major issues after the first viewing, but being able to watch it without the take-my-breath-away shock and surprise, I was able to catch some subtleties that I'd missed the first time that make me feel better about certain plot points. I don't necessarily like the plot points, but I've come to terms with them.

Boy Roommate went for a second go as well and we brought along Girl Roommate. It was interesting to watch it with somebody who had never even seen the show. She thoroughly enjoyed it (but then, how could she not?) so there's hope that it can be marketed beyond the die-hard fan set.

Found owners for the extra tickets. huzzlewhat and friend came all the way from Philly to see the movie. Now that's true fandom. They were uber-sweet and brought me a Philadelphia present... a little Benjamin Franklin action figure, complete with kite and key. Too cute.
