Nov. 5th, 2004 05:56 pmI've been hiding from LJ. I hate being on here when the news is depressing and I know all my friends are going to dwell in the depression. So now I'm back. Why? Because I'm depressed. Not about the election though (although there is that... I'm just trying not to focus on it. You say the country is being taken over by right-wing, religious, fear-mongering crackpots? What? I can't hear you. Lalalalalalalalalalalala...)
Onto my personal depression... It's job huntin' time. Oh-So-Thrilling normally, but somehow especially uplifting when you have two emails right in a row, from professors who have encouraged you to stick your neck out into the professional world, and both emails are forwards from their professional contacts that are basically smackdowns saying "not good enough." Yeah, I'm feeling super confident about the job hunt now.
EDIT: And, to top it all off, one of the emails was about a query that only I and my friend had attempted. Did the prof only send the response to us? No, she sent it to the whole class so that they all know the editor's opinion of our work. Yipee.
