I was at school and somebody got an email from a friend about how an accurate Halloween costume for Dick Cheney would have to include ichor out of the eyes or some such. Nobody knew what ichor was...except me. I did the fantasy novel definition, which it sounds like most of you did as well, that it was the icky blood like substance in things like orcs and demons and such-like. Not the official definition but probably closer to the way her friend meant it. Anyway, everybody kind of looked at me funny for revealing my geeky, fantasy fan-girl ways. I tried to argue that it's a word most people would know, but it looks like the people who did know it, know it from similar origins as me...geeky, fantasy knowledge.
Guess it's a kind of interesting excercise in the differences between the friends I actively choose (you guys) vs. the friends I've been randomly thrown together with (my classmates).
