Ack! When did LJ get the facelift? Been so busy with my first week of school I haven't been by for awhile.

So, school. Probablu worthy of yet another Ack! So much, so fast. I'm on information overload and it's only week one. So much to do. Fun assignment in Broadcast Science though. To get us used to the cameras and picking fun film angles and such, our first assignment is a music video. Too fun.

Going to be massively busy though, so not sure how up to date I will be able to stay with LJ, so if you don't hear from me, that's why.

Good news though. I do get to go to the wedding. CO for halloween. See lots of you then!

Can I say, this first month is crazy expensive and totally throwing off my budget. Let's see, had to set up my cell phone service, have to subscribe to two newspapers that are required daily reading, had to get the wedding present framed, bought plane tickets home for the wedding, still had one month on my loan before the defferal period kicked in, and the random doctor crap that insurance decided not to cover. I think I've spent one and a half times what I planned for a monthly budget and it's the 5th. So not a good sign.

Yes, because politicians always need more money.

In the NY Times article on the same story it was called a "cost-of-living" raise. I'm sorry, if they think you need $158,000 a year to live, there definitely needs to be a re-calculation of minimum wage. And everybody in Congress should be required to read Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America (good book, by the way).

Like the representative from Utah though. The Times article quotes him as saying "We are fighting terrorism on numerous fronts and our economy is in serious trouble, unemployment is at record high levels, and our future budget defecits are predicted to be the highest in the history of this great nation. Now is not the time for members of Congress to be voting themselves a pay raise."

You think?
