Dec. 13th, 2002 11:55 amHot Damn!! I just got my Christmas bonus and it's twice what I was expecting. So, should I be good and put the second half in savings or just have a really good Christmas?

Dec. 13th, 2002 11:10 pmOffice Christmas dinner tonight. There was so much food! And the choices! We all took forever just to decide on appetizers. Then the waiter came out and said "Well, now you have another choice with soup or salad." Easy decision, right? There were two soups and four salads. Sheesh. All the food was scrumptious though, no matter the dosage.
I really like these people in a social setting, it's just at work that they drive me up the wall. Could just be that work drives me up the wall and they reap the internal fallout...or something.
My friend (ended up deciding on single female friend I had't seen in ages*) got locked in the bathroom at one point. Apparently she just couldn't get the stall door open for about fifteen minutes. Yeah, I'm not letting her live that one down.
The boss gave a very nice speech at the end touching on each person's contribution to the company. It was pretty sweet. He touched on how a coworker and I were both looking to move on to grad school next fall (both at the same place strangely enough), and how since it's a small company the chances for advancement are slim so it's more of a stepping stone to the next phase in life and that's something he really likes to see. I was pleasantly suprised by all this. Just a side of him he doesn't bring to the office, I guess.
Anyway, we had a good time a now, it's the weekend. Yeah!!!!
*There were no raised eyebrows. Probably because the person I was expecting them from was a) very sick and b) her daughter brought a female friend last year. This year her daughter brought a guy named Bubba, and no, I'm not joking.
