Hee! I love banter. Whether it's Sorkinese politcal banter in the West Wing or Whedonesque sarcasm in Firefly, it's just fun. Found this little exchange today while indulging my guilty pleasure and procrastinating on my deadline:


"I'm in the mood for Bob's Big Boy. You?"

"The large red child makes my eyes hurt."

"Tsk. You really need to learn to look past the *outside* of things."

"To what? The food?"

"I'm beginning to think you're a snob."

"Big red child! Smiling! All the time!"

"Holding a big, juicy burger."

"The child doesn't disturb you."

"Well, it would if it got up and *walked*, but, for now, it's just another example of good old Americana."

"There's a reason Europeans don't respect you people, you know."

"Heh. But we've got the biggest guns."

"I'd be muttering and grumbling right now if I could work up a good pout."

"Well, where do *you* want to eat?"

Pause.

"I don't know."


OK, possibly not as entertaining out of context, but still... banter... and fun... and...*sigh*, I know, I know, shut up and get back to work....

Hmmmm... tempting but a) I've basically got myself almost completely weaned off the television and really don't want to get re-attached and b) I have class Tuesday night anyway. I'll keep it in mind though.
