Well this will probably get an "I told you so" or some such from [livejournal.com profile] schwa242, but such is life. Watched The Book of Life tonight. Other than the frickin' annoying shutter speed, it was a pretty good flick. I just hate camera work that induces a headache. I blush to admit that I actually rented it without realizing it was a Hal Hartley. *sigh* And I call myself my brother's sister. Actually I don't, cause that's an odd turn of phrase, but you get the point.

Kinda pissed that I forgot tonight was the Perseids. Had I remembered, I would have konked out early and then gotten up pre-dawn to see the peak. Now I'm just too tired. Thankfully, unlike the transit of Venus, I can just do it next year. I only knew of the Perseids and the Leonids... now I find there's Lyrids, Eta Aquarids, Delta Aquarids, Perseids, Orionids, Leonids and Geminids. WTF? How come I never knew that? I'll have to get after my dad seeing as he's the amateur astronomer in the family.

And yes, the oddness of my writing is completely and totally due to my need for sleep. Guess who gets to work from home tomorrow and thus SLEEP IN.

Yeah, the cinematography SUCKED in that one. He was experimenting with digital film or something, and like some experiments, I think it failed.

But other than that, great movie. My hero Martin Donovan as Jesus Christ was delightful.
