Aug. 7th, 2003 12:50 amHad a great day today. Went down to Newbury St. to explore. Now that's a street with a split personality. One end is Ritz Carlton/Armani and the other is Newbury Comics/Condomworld.
I got off the T on the ritzy end and only had time to explore the there so will have to go back. Did feel right at "home" except instead of the Southampton town hall now being Saks, it was the Academy of Sciences building now being Banana Republic.
Didn't actually go in to too many places. Waved at the Thomas Kinkade store in honor of
littledevi. Mostly hit the specialty book shops, which were, of course, very cool. C'mon, it's books.
Tonight was the roommate who I'm replacing's last night so we went out. Had my first tapas and went salsa dancing for the first time. Loads of fun.
She's so funny because she acts like she's trying to dump all of her Boston knowledge into my head before she leaves. It's great though because I'm learning about some great spots to check out and things to do. I'm loving living in a big city. There's just so MUCH. Just to warn you, I'm going to be gushing about Boston for weeks, possibly months to come.
