taerowyn: (drunk-faced)
OK, not "totally drunk-faced," but at least quite happy from [livejournal.com profile] dwarf's mead, though the man himself was not there. Had a celebratory drink and munch get together with Mrs. [livejournal.com profile] dwarf for her new job which means that in less than a month she too can leave the country and move to the Great White North (TM)

Mrs. [livejournal.com profile] dwarf is one of the most goal oriented people I know in that she will set herself specific goals and then go out of her way to achieve them. That's why I told her about National Novel Writing Month because I knew that if she knew about it, she'd do it, thus forcing me to do it. And thus:

So basically, prepare yourself for a month's worth of bitching about writer's block.

Yet another weird online thing I found to sign up for is at Pledge Bank. Basically Pledge Bank is a site where people pledge to do item X if number Y people will do it as well. Like "I will Boycott Burger King for life! but only if 100 other anti-PC people will too." So I decided to sign up for one. (Not the Burger King one, and, amazingly, not the Serenity one either. What's even more amazing is that I didn't find this place through the Serenity pledge, but through a completely unrelated online contact). Anyway, I thought is was an interesting concept, though some of the pledges are admittedly a) quite dopey and b) overly optimistic in the number of people they think they will be able to find to agree with.
